Beyond the legendary Volkswagen Beetle, the Golf may be the most recognizable model in the Volkswagen lineup. Well, the Golf R takes everything drivers love about the classic hatchback and makes it even better.

There has to be some reason Williamsville drivers keep coming back to Northtown Volkswagen to drive home in this sporty and spacious hatchback. Check out our new inventory and discover your reason today.

Volkswagen Golf R Design

The Golf R underwent a redesign in 2022, meaning the new models still feel fresh and modern. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels with performance tires for optimal fun. Chrome quad exhaust tips and a Golf R-specific grille, bumpers, and badging help you stand out in a crowd. Nappa leather seats are a highlight of the cabin; they are heated and ventilated for comfort. Ambient interior lighting gives you 30 configurable colors to personalize your driving experience.

Performance Features of the Golf R

To say the Golf R is fun to drive is an understatement. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine pumps out 315 horsepower for an energetic commute. It takes you from zero-to-60 in just 4.1 seconds. The six-speed automatic transmission puts you in control of your adventure. But there is also a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. It is quick and agile and everything you want from an athletic hatchback.

Reliable Safety Highlights

This sporty option brings Volkswagen's reputation for safety along with it. It earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for its 2023 crash tests. It is also jam-packed with high-tech safety features, like collision avoidance technology, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and more. Basically, if Volkswagen makes a safety feature, the Golf R is equipped with it.

Enhanced Technology

Like its safety features, the Golf R has all you can imagine when it comes to technology. It houses a 10-inch infotainment display and the 10-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster. Smartphone integration and device charging are both wireless. Tri-zone automatic climate control ensures everyone's comfort, no matter the conditions. And the configurable ambient lighting gives you a different perspective whenever you get behind the wheel.

Golf R Trim Levels

For drivers looking for a long list of different trim levels, maybe this isn't the car for you. Instead, the Volkswagen Golf R provides two fully-stocked trim levels to satisfy drivers of all interests. You couldn't ask for anything more when you're as loaded as the base level Golf R.

Volkswagen Golf R: The namesake trim is everything you want from a car. It showcases a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen with a wireless connection for your Apple or Android device. There is even wireless device charging. A panoramic sunroof opens up a new view of Williamsville that you've been missing on your commute. The leather upholstery includes heated and ventilated front seats and a back row that is warm and cozy, as well. Ambient lighting sets the tone for your spectacular drive.

Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition: This limited-run trim increases your fun behind the wheel. The trim gets a carbon-fiber treatment. The bold and distinguished look is enhanced by gloss black wheels and exterior accents. Besides that, it keeps everything you find in the base model, minus the sunroof.
